A Program Admin can invite you to mentor their program by email. The invitation is answered in LFX, the Linux Foundation's software platform, not in the email itself.
Before you begin
- The invitation email contains a one-time link. Use the link rather than navigating by hand, and open it signed in with the LF ID the email was sent to; another account is told the invitation is for a different account.
- You need an LF ID (Linux Foundation ID). If you do not have a mentor profile yet, you are asked to create one.
Steps
- Open the invitation email and select its link. It takes you to the invitation page in LFX.
- Sign in with your LF ID if you are not already signed in.
- Review the program named on the page.
- Select Accept or Decline.
Nothing is answered until you make that choice on the page, so a mail scanner that follows the link cannot accept or decline on your behalf.
After completing
Accepting puts the program under My Programs in LFX, where its mentees and tasks appear. Declining leaves the program unchanged and notifies the Program Admin.
